As stated I bring the car in for a simple gasket replacement , just a replacement , the mechanic point out the things I don't need to know, and scare me into replace the belt and a so-call brake job.
For all the negative feedback I'm getting , I never said I was a expert mechanic did I ?.
As for the exhaust goes Saleentones maybe you buy .99 cent exhaust , but go to turboxs webpage . research before you reply homo. |
So would it have been better if they had not replaced the timing belt, and your motor fucking destroyed itself? All the mechanic did was his job. He warned you of something that could cause catastrophic damage to your engine. Do yourself a favor and go buy a Toyota Camry or something. You obviously don't know anything about cars in general. _________________ Wants an Evo IX.

Unless you missed it. If he was talking about the timing belt and it breaks it WILL ruin your motor (no joke) and that should scare you. How pissed would you be if they noticed it and didn't tell you and it broke? Yes, dealerships usually inspect the car looking for more things to fix then what your brought it in for, but Brookdale is not known for replacing things that don't need it. Last time I was in there they recommended another customer do their wipers. The customer declined and Brookdale didn't pressure them at all.
Sorry, this was a tough lesson, but if you stick around this forum you will likely be able to learn a lot so next time you can be prepared. And next time, if in doubt tell them you need an hour or two to do some research and ask someone on here what they think. We'd be more then willing to steer you in the right direction. _________________ Christopher

| I was at brookdale mitsu yesterday morning to get my bluetooth module activated in the X. Took about an hour, I paid a fair price, and was on my way. They didn't say anything about the few mods I had on the car and that was that. I was happy! |

+1, no need to be a PRICK to the guy. It's obvious -
1. He didn't do his due diligence on maintenance
2. Made some poor assumptions and drew IMO a very bad conclusion that Brookdale was trying to brown beat him on work that he obviously needed
It would be more beneficial to point out the obvious and keep the personal insults out and hopefully he will learn quickly and make better decision and hopefully draw better conclusions in the future. ZIOBRYC, you need to be careful of the conclusions that you draw and then post up on here. Your car obviously needed the work done, nobody tried to pull the wool over your eyes and now you are learning really quick just how expensive things can be to maintain this vehicle. _________________ 2006 IX GSR w/SSL |

Post up the invoice - it should list out the parts and labor, and that will be the best proof on any conclusion on here.
And, yes, we should keep all the personal insults out and try to focus on the facts here. As of right now, this guy paid for some services and parts, and his accusation on here is whether he has been overcharged. |

I can tell you right now that in any Audi that has a timing belt we will check them if possible everytime you bring it in.
Yes, it is a good job for the technician but we would rather be able to replace you belt for you then have to replace the engine/head/etc etc. We do it as a customer service. Wouldn't you want to know your belt was cracked? _________________ 2005 Evo VIII
